When is the best time to visit?
We do not recommend the colder months from May to September as there is no heating in the cottages, but the rest of the year is fine.
How do I get the key to the cottage?
Since we have caretakers on the premises you do not need a key.
Do you provide sheets and towels?
Sheets and towels are provided.
Is the place suitable for small children and/or elderly people?
The refugio is fine for small children but we would not recommend it for anyone with limited mobility as there are a lot of slopes and steps in the garden and by the cottages.
How close is the nearest food shop/supermarket?
There are small shops near the entrance to Santa Sofia where you can buy fresh produce and basic groceries, otherwise there is a supermarket on nearby Walker Martinez street as well as others nearby.
Do you rent for longer periods of time?
Yes, we are happy to rent for longer periods of time, just get in touch with us.
How well equipped is the kitchen?
The kitchens in the cottages have all basic kitchen equipment excluding electrical items.
Is there a washing machine?
There is no washing machine since our power comes from solar panels, there is however a big outdoor sink ideal for handwashing.
Is all gas, electricity and hot water included in the rental price?
Yes
Where/how far is the nearest doctor/clinic?
The nearest clinic is Clinica Vespuccio which is situated at the Plaza Vespuccio shopping mall which is approximately 15 minutes drive from the refugio.

Can I bring a dog?
Yes, you can bring your pet dog/s but please ensure they do not enter either of the cottages.
Can we drink the tap water?
We recommend that you do not drink the tap water, to be safe. You can either buy water in the supermarket or alternatively, boil the tap water for drinking.
What happens in an emergency?

Where can I buy charcoal for bbq?
You can buy charcoal at any of the supermarkets nearby.
Will I have free access at the porteria/gate?
Yes, there shouldn’t be a problem, but if there is any issue then please ask the person on the gate to phone our caretakers.
Is there wifi?
Yes, we have wifi but only to be used for emails and basic needs rather than downloading.
